Professional Statement
Since I enrolled in college this fall at Olivet College my interest in becoming a police officer has increase greatly. I know that being a police officer can be a very demanding profession. Even though its very demanding, with the right attitude and great work ethic, It can be a great profession. I will be able to help protect people, and enforce laws to make sure that everyone is kept safe. I look forward to the benefits of the job, after all of the hard work and dedication that it's going to take to get a job in my profession.
Some of my talents that will help me be successful in being a police officer are: good communication skills, which will allow me to help disable any particular situation that I'm presented with. I am able to remain calm in tense situations, and I can provide clear and direct instruction while maintaining a high level of respect, compassion, and understanding. I also have a very positive work ethic and thrive in a multitude of work place settings either as a team member or as an individual. I developed leadership qualities throughout high school as a team captain of my varsity sports teams where I was always mindful to lead by example. I also learned many other important work place values such as honesty, integrity, effective communication, punctuality, time management, prioritization and multi tasking. I realize the importance of serving others and helping those that are less fortunate. I take pride in helping within my own community by volunteering my time and expertise with various community service projects and initiated and implemented the “Pink” football game on my own. I always give my best efforts both academically and athletically, and plan to carry these qualities with me into the work setting.
